One of Hawaii’s most beloved cold drinks is called POG.  Visitors of all ages have fallen in love with this refreshing island treat.  Some visitors are disappointed when they find that POG is really hard to find in the Mainland U.S. and when we came across this blog post “The Great HAWAII Magazine POG-Off!” on Hawaiimagazine.com with the recipe below submitted by Cheryl W., we knew some of you would like to make your own at home.  Try this easy recipe for POG and bring refreshing island flavors to your home.

  • 1 Cup Kern’s Guava Nectar
  • 1 Cup Welch’s Passion Fruit Nectar
  • 2/3 Cup of Minute Maid no-pulp orange juice.

Mix the above ingredients together in small pitcher.  Chill and serve.

“A piece of Paradise”

We have had the delightful experience of staying in E 102 unit at Mauna Lani Point and we keep returning!  The magnificent view of the signature hole basking in the beautiful Hawaiian sunset is breathtaking.  Inviting, spacious accommodations; both bedrooms have private baths as well as a powder room; very comfortable for 2 couples or families.  Only steps to the well appointed barbecue area and lovely pool–perfect for afternoon swims after a beach day.
Protected beach club that offers good food, and beachside access…
The owners have compiled great restaurant and day trip suggestions–We can’t wait to go back!
bback. back!!

Travel Tip from Your Friends at Mauna Lani Point

Since searching for airfare can sometimes be a frustrating process involving many steps, we thought we would let you in on an upgrade to Microsoft’s Bing Travel Price Predictors called “Autosuggest Flight Prices.”

This new “Autosuggest Flight Prices” feature displays flight prices, including Bing’s prediction of the best flight price over the next 90 days, directly in the search box without having to even hit the enter button.

Now you are able to find out whether fares are rising or dropping and whether you should buy now or wait.  By offering this unique feature you will know the best time to buy your airline tickets saving you time and money!  Currently, Bing touts an average accuracy rate of 75%.

The Islands at Mauna Lani Review from TripAdvisor

Visitor from San Ramon, California

“Paradise at the Mauna Lani.”

We stayed in a Townhome which was just beautiful.  We had two master suites and room for two additional guests.  The place was furnished very nicely and we just walked out facing the fairway.  As the place was 21OO ft. it felt like a home.  It was quiet with a pool just across the street.  Walk to the beach about 10-15 minutes.  We highly recommend this place and have full intentions on returning.  The staff are most helpful.
